Birth of Jesus Story
The Christmas Bible story retold for children: Mary, Joseph, Bethlehem, shepherds, and the newborn Jesus.
Short Bible Story Preview
Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem because of a census. The town was crowded, and there was no ordinary room for them. There, in humble surroundings, Mary gave birth to Jesus and laid him in a manger.
That night, shepherds were watching their sheep when an angel announced good news of great joy. A Savior had been born. The shepherds hurried to Bethlehem and found the baby just as the angel had said.
The birth of Jesus teaches children that God's greatest gift came with humility, peace, and joy. Christmas begins with a child, but the child is Christ the Lord.

Honthorst's candlelit Nativity scene works well for audio Bible stories because it feels intimate, nocturnal, and reverent.
