Jesus Calms the Storm
Jesus speaks peace over a frightening storm while his disciples learn who he is.
Short Bible Story Preview
After a long day of teaching, Jesus and his disciples crossed the lake by boat. A fierce storm rose suddenly. Waves splashed over the sides, and the disciples were terrified.
Jesus was asleep in the boat. The disciples woke him and cried out for help. Jesus stood up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" The storm became calm.
Then Jesus asked why they were afraid and where their faith was. The disciples wondered, because even the wind and sea obeyed him. This story gives children a picture of Jesus' authority and presence in fear.
